Quarto/ Letter paper

(8.5x11in/216x279mm) is the most popular paper from the US. This is equivalent to UK A4 size (8.3x11.7in/210x297mm). When filing American paper this must be 3-hole punched as opposed to the 2-hole punch we are use to in the UK. We stock 3-hole punch folders and filing pockets which are available in the American Stationery section, also we stock 3 hole punches.

American legal

(8.5x14in/216x356mm) sized paper is similar in size to the UK foolscap size (8.5 × 13.5in/216×343mm).

The standard weight of US Paper is 80gsm. We can supply different colours and weights on request.

Bespoke paper sizes

We can cut to size coloured paper for the Art and Set Dec departments, ideal when trying to produce a period looking paper or stacks of money for a shoot.

Key Words

Grammage (gsm)

GSM or "Grams per Square Meter" is a measurement of the density of the paper. Our standard plain paper are usually between 70gsm and 80gsm. Whereas, our mount board and ticketboard is closer to 1000gsm.

Whiteness (CIE)

Whiteness is the measure of how much light is reflected by a sheet and is measured in CIE. Our standard white paper has a CIE whiteness between 150 and 170. 

Thickness (micron)

Measured in microns (1/1000 of a millimetre) and is more relevent for thicker card and boards. Normal paper is approximate to 100 microns while our mountboard is up to 1400 microns.

Opacity

This is a measure of how transparent a sheet is and is defined in perctage. The less opaque a sheet is the lower the percentage. Our paper scores more than 90%.

Ream

Number of sheets per pack which can vary in quantity dependent on the manufacturer and the GSM.
